What is TrueUPI?

Our platform combines community reporting with advanced analytics to create a comprehensive safety net for UPI transactions.
How does UPI verification work?
Our UPI ID verification system checks the provided UPI ID against our database of reported fraudulent IDs and suspicious patterns. It uses machine learning algorithms to analyze transaction patterns, user reports, and other security parameters to provide instant results showing the safety status of the UPI ID. When you input a UPI ID, we provide a comprehensive risk assessment based on historical data and community feedback.
Is TrueUPI free to use?
Community UPI verification, fraud reporting, and basic Trust Score checks are free to start. Every registered user gets one free Know The UPI name verification. Paid Shield plans (from ₹299/mo) unlock additional fresh NPCI name checks, unlimited cached lookups, cluster intelligence, and higher TrueShield AI limits. See our pricing page for details.
What is the Know The UPI?
Know The UPI reveals a masked NPCI-registered account holder name behind a UPI ID (e.g. S**** K*****), plus linked UPI ID cluster counts. Full legal names are never shown publicly. Trust Score combines community reports, cluster signals, and verification data — it is informational, not a bank guarantee.
How can I report a fraudulent UPI ID?
You can report fraudulent UPI IDs through our report page. Simply provide the UPI ID, describe the fraudulent activity, and upload any supporting evidence like screenshots of conversations or transaction receipts. Our team will review and verify the report within 24-48 hours. Once verified, the UPI ID will be added to our database to warn other users and help protect the community.
What do I get for reporting fraud?
By reporting fraud, you contribute to making UPI payments safer for everyone in India. Your reports help build our community database of suspicious UPI IDs, which helps protect others from becoming victims of fraud. Active contributors are recognized on our community leaderboard, where top contributors earn recognition badges and higher trust scores based on the quality and accuracy of their reports.
Is my personal data safe with TrueUPI?
Yes, we take data privacy very seriously. We use advanced encryption and security measures to protect your personal information. All user data is encrypted both in transit and at rest. We do not share your personal information with third parties without your explicit consent, except when required by law. How can I request deletion of my personal data?
You have the right to request deletion of your personal data from our platform. To submit a data deletion request:

How accurate is the fraud detection?
Our fraud detection system is highly accurate, using community reports, machine learning algorithms, and pattern analysis. We continuously refine our detection models based on new data and emerging fraud patterns. However, we recommend users to always exercise caution and verify through multiple sources before making significant transactions. Our system provides risk scores rather than absolute judgments, giving you information to make better decisions.

Can I use TrueUPI on mobile devices?
Yes, TrueUPI is fully responsive and works seamlessly on all devices including smartphones, tablets, and desktop computers. We also have a Progressive Web App (PWA) for easy mobile access. The PWA can be installed on your home screen for quick access, providing a native app-like experience without requiring a separate download from app stores.
How do I create an account on TrueUPI?
You can create an account by clicking the "Sign Up" button and providing your email address and password. You can also sign up using your Google account for faster registration. Creating an account allows you to track your verification history, submit and manage fraud reports, build your community reputation, and receive personalized fraud alerts based on your transaction patterns and location.
What should I do if I encounter a suspected fraudulent UPI ID?
If you encounter a suspected fraudulent UPI ID, take these immediate steps:
- Do not make any payments to the suspicious ID
- Report it through our platform with details of the interaction
- If you've already made a payment, contact your bank immediately to attempt to reverse the transaction
- Report to cyber crime authorities using the official cyber crime portal
- Preserve all communication and evidence related to the interaction
How often is the fraud database updated?
Our fraud database is updated as new community reports are verified and processed. Risk assessments may incorporate patterns from aggregated report data. We do not guarantee real-time coverage of every UPI ID in India.
What is TrueShield AI?
TrueShield AI is TrueUPI's fraud prevention assistant at /guard. You can describe suspicious payment situations, verify UPI IDs in context, or upload screenshots before you pay. Guest users receive a limited number of free messages per day; signed-in users receive a higher daily limit.
How do rewards and the leaderboard work?
Signed-in users earn recognition for verified fraud reports and community contributions. Visit the leaderboard to see top contributors. Rewards reflect community participation, not financial payouts unless separately announced.
Can I access TrueUPI from anywhere in India?
Yes, TrueUPI is accessible from anywhere in India with an internet connection. The web app and PWA work on modern browsers. The interface is currently in English.
